I first heard about the super typhoon Yolanda days ago, when it was first detected brewing in the Pacific Ocean .Internationally named " Haiyan ", it is predicted to be the strongest typhoon to hit the Philippines this year.
The first thing that crossed my mind was the possibility of not being able to do my daily online tasks, which included writing articles for an SEO ( Search Engine Optimization ) company , posting advertisements on an online shopping site ( Amazon and eBay ) , and clicking on advertisements , PTC as it is commonly called.
Power and internet interruption would be a major dillema for me because it would thwart my ability to do these odd jobs, which is a major source of online income for me, in addition to my regular job as a customer service representative for an outsourced American company .
Thus, I took the steps to somehow prepare myself for this upcoming natural disaster . Without power and electricity, it would be a harrowing experience but nevertheless , I prepared for the worst.
The first thing I did was to fully charge my laptop, and all three cellphones that I own.
I then bought bottled water , food , candles , batteries for my flashlights , and withdrew some money from my bank account.
The next thing I did was to secure all the upstairs windows in the two-story house where I lived.
All breakable objects were placed in a safe corner .Linen and towels ready just in case I would need them, and prepared rugs and dry cloth to wipe our marble floor with . I knew the inside of our house would be drenched with rainwater, as witnessed from previous typhoons wherein rain would somehow slip through the cracks and holes on the roof .
I was worried about the trees and electricity posts surrounding our home . There are two trees that are at least a hundred years old that will risk getting knocked down by the strong winds brought by the typhoon.
That, and then there are the people of Bohol, who just very recently got struck by a magnitude 7.2 earthquake.
I thought about the earthquake victims living in make-shift tents . The children and the elderly, who will be exposed to hurricane force winds and torrential rains.
I can only but hope that there typhoon yolanda will not bear any casualties.
I looked at the dark clouds looming above me and felt a twinge of fear.
It will be here . Soon.
And all we can do is brace ourselves.

Earthquake In Cebu and Bohol Philippines
I had been working on my computer for a few minutes, checking mail and my online jobs when suddenly I felt the first tremors rock the floor .
Then suddenly, the mild tremors turned into sudden, jolt-like waves , almost knocking me to the floor. I grabbed a wooden post for support , slowly groping my way into the living room , towards the flat-screen TV that I had bought a few months back.
Here, hold this ! I yelled at her, while I shut the power off.
Within a split-second , I realized that there was an earthquake , a rather strong one.
At first, I stopped typing , trying to feel it's intensity , looking at the flickering yellow led light , wondering what to do first .
Then suddenly, the mild tremors turned into sudden, jolt-like waves , almost knocking me to the floor. I grabbed a wooden post for support , slowly groping my way into the living room , towards the flat-screen TV that I had bought a few months back.
It was rocking back and forth, almost falling off the short chaise where I had placed it.
It took every ounce of willpower to hold the TV and keep it from crashing towards the floor.
It took every ounce of willpower to hold the TV and keep it from crashing towards the floor.
I saw my sister running towards the door , half-naked.
Here, hold this ! I yelled at her, while I shut the power off.
Everything was in near-chaos , with stuff falling out of cabinet tops, tables, and even clothes in hampers were strewn all over the floor.
I thought about my brothers and their families, and wondered if they were home and safe.
I practically crawled my way outside the house, looking out for tangled wires and falling debris .
After about a minute or two, it stopped.
I saw people running outside their homes, mothers looking for their children , and just everybody in near-panic.
The after shocks came within just minutes apart from each other , and with each tremor , I felt something akin to fear..
I had lived in an earthquake-prone area all my life, and I had become accustomed to it , having experienced tremors of various intensities , mostly during the daytime, and sometimes at night, when I'm at work doing the night shift.
After a few hours, I got back into the house and tidied up , while the aftershocks continued.
It's gonna be a long day today , and I would be lucky to get a few hours of sleep , before my shift starts tonight

Make Money Online For Free
I'm in between online jobs now , so I have a little bit of extra time to take care of my other online earning sources.
I first stumbled upon paid to click sites back in 2009 , when facebook first became ultra popular.
Some of my facebook friends sent me links to popular paid to click ( PTC ) sites and urged me to join, stating that it was free, and that I was guaranteed to make money online for free .
So , albeit skeptical, I registered on a free PTC site and started working.
The whole concept is to click on available advertisements, you stay on the ad page for a specified number of seconds, and you earn a few a fraction of a cent.
Yes. Just a fraction , which was not worth the time and effort I put into it.
So, after a few days, I quit and simply forgot about it.
Moving forward to 2013, I seriously got into making money online, writing articles for websites and blogs for extra cash, and again, I got invited by my brother, who buggered me into joining.
Thus , I signed up again, using my brother's referral link , and this time I vowed that I would seriously look into the possibility of it being an online money-making opportunity.
He then proceeded to teach me the tricks of the trade, how to double your earnings by upgrading my account and renting "referrals".
" Oh, so I'm gonna invest some money now, into this business " ? I asked him.
" A few dollars would not hurt you," He replied confidently.
So I shelled out a few bucks out of my PayPal account and upgraded my membership , but I was still skeptical .
And this was all for brotherly love *duh*
So, I immediately started clicking away, and wants the earning tab increase by a few cents.
After a few days, a big writing job came . I was assigned to write articles about robotic vacuum cleaners , a machine that was very unfamiliar to me because I never even knew they existed.
That took me away from my PTC sites for a few weeks, but during my spare time, I would log onto my accounts for a few minutes a day, and click on whatever ad was available.
So now, after more than a month since I first registered onto those PTC sites, I earned a few dollars , with a combined earning that almost doubled my initial investment.
So now, I'm thinking of increasing my investment for more possible profit.
And that, I will do, until my next big writing job comes along.

Make Money Online By Clicking On Advertisements
For months , I have been trying to figure out how to earn extra money online to support my income.
I have tried registering at freelance sites, which is actually another sure-fire way of earning cash, however, due to the vast number of freelancers looking for jobs online , the competition is tough.
Fortunately, I stumbled upon an article online, outlining the best ways to make money on the internet and paid to click websites came out on top of the list.
Paid to click is an online business model that draws online traffic from people aiming to earn money from home.
Paid-To-Click, or simply PTC websites, act as middlemen between advertisers and consumers.
The advertiser pays for displaying ads on the PTC website, and a part of this payment goes to the viewer when he views the advertisement.
Thus, the more ads you click on, the more money you earn.
It could be a tedious and time-consuming task, but you will certainly reap the rewards if you continuously click on advertisements day after day.
